i have type 2 diabetic I saw my eye doctor today. they found Diabetic Retinopathy got bigger from last year they going get me see specialist i got worry about
I had a vitrectomy in November 2010. I must say it took at least 3 weeks to get my vision back. Also, 2 months later I had a post operative haemorrhage and a massive bleed which left me without sight in my eye for 10 days. Its NOT a speedy recovery! But believe me it was worth it. If you’re a diabetic take this seriously. Take care of your BM’s so you dont need the op to begin with!
my brother had about three months ago a vitrectomy and his sight in not come back even 25%better, do you will consider something was wrong through his eye surgery, this was in his left eye and now ,his doctor want to perform the same procedure in the right eye, but we are worried about the left eye results, and happend the same problem with the right eye. so please could you recomend a responsable doctor ,in the chicago area?
I’ve been diabetic for about 6 years now type 2. My blood sugar’s have been pretty well control. The sad thing is when they say in this video that diabetic retinopathy can occur even with controlled blood sugars. I’ve already been legally blind since I was very young I have had glaucoma since I was very young up until now it has taken most of my peripheral vision I have congenital nystagmus which already makes it hard to see and I’m myoptic. And I’m already totally blind in one eye due to an injury . This really sounds like somebody who’s at high risk of going completely blind yep that’s me really sucks just hope it doesn’t happen I would like to at least keep the remaining Vision that I have. And I just learned from my last I doctor’s visit that I have early cataract formation so yes there’s a cataract that’s already brewing in my eye and I’m already noticing changes in my vision.

How bad was your PDR at the time? Did you have laser eye surgery before the vitrectomy? How are you doing today?

Great well made and spot on advice. There is no point in worrying about this stuff just see your eye specialist if you can aford to do so.
